Band This Week
Dear Band Students and Parents,
If you are like me you are experiencing something very new today. Since Monday my children have been doing distance learning non-stop and it can be overwhelming at first! My goal is to be brief, helpful, and create awesome content to keep everyone having fun and practicing!
Please just follow these steps:
1) Join our Google Classroom. This is super easy. Students have already been added by me! The next time you are on classroom you just need to click on the class and accept the invite! Most students have already accepted.
2) Check out the videos and content! I am going to be providing a curriculum exactly as if I was in school with you. The schedule this week is:
Wednesday: Flutes and Clarinets
Thursday: Saxophones and Trumpets
Friday: Trombones and Drums and Presto
Over the weekend I will create a jazz band video and post it up, you can access this next week
3) I am HERE! I am here for office hours from 9-1 but the truth is I am accessible pretty much any time. I am committed to replying extremely quickly from 9-1. As I have been all year, I am available via school email or the remind app.
4) If a student is struggling or wants extra help or a video lesson I am HERE! Just reach out I can either send a personalized video addressing the student's needs or we can video conference.
My goal all year has been music literacy. That's going to continue with our videos, which as you are about to see have become much more sophisticated this week.
My goal is to make Band as fun and as educational an experience as possible for the rest of this year. I have posted a kick off video in our classroom (as well as the 11 instructional videos I have made thus far) in our new Band google classroom. New general music content is on this way starting this week too.
Here is a little welcome video the Specials teachers put together for you! Let's get started!
